What does Lexly do?
Point your camera at something and tap. Lexly cuts the object out of the photo as a sticker and sticks it on your shelf with its name in the language you’re learning, plus a short explanation in the language you think in.
Which languages can I learn?
Popular choices include English, French, Spanish, German, Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Italian. You also choose the language Lexly explains things in. You can change either one anytime in Settings.
Is it free?
You get 30 free captures every month, and the count resets on the 1st. Settings shows how many you’ve used.
Do I need an account?
No, you can start right away. Without an account, your shelf is saved on your iPhone only. You can create an account from Settings whenever you like.
What if it gets the word wrong?
Lexly tells you when it isn’t sure and offers other guesses to pick from. Every result has Edit, so you always have the final say before anything goes on your shelf.
What if it can’t cut the object out?
Tap Type it instead and say what the thing is, in any language. Lexly explains it, finds its name, and you can still add a photo to peel.
Can I use photos I already have?
Yes. Tap Photos on the camera screen and pick one from your library.
How does reviewing work?
When stickers are due, Home tells you how many are waiting. Lexly shows you a sticker, you say its name out loud, then check the answer and mark it I know it or Still learning.
What happens to my photos?
Lexly only uses a photo to cut out the object and name it, and never sells it or uses it for ads. The details are in the privacy policy.
Deleting your data
To delete one word, open it on your shelf and choose Peel off my shelf. To delete your account and everything in it, write to support@lexly.world from the email on your account.
